SURVEY - CEOs, business lawyers, financiers... More and more French senior executives are discussing business in the locker rooms of very exclusive clubs.
Across the Atlantic, they're called "White Collar Boxing Gyms," meaning boxing gyms for white-collar workers and Wall Street traders looking to unwind. "In the locker rooms, there are only suits hanging on racks," observes Cyril Durand, who discovered the concept about ten years ago during a stay in New York. "I'd never seen anything like that in France! Boxing as I knew it was practiced in associative structures focused mainly on competition and combat, with changing rooms that were often unsanitary and most of the time without showers. Unless you're a fan, it seems difficult to integrate the sport into your routine in these kinds of conditions. " This is when this former HEC student came up with the idea of creating a "chic, mixed club," based on membership and high-end services: individual showers so you can quickly get on with business meetings, large lockers to secure your equipment, etc.
